Through acts of making, I explore the nature of consciousness and reality. I am interested in how the human experience of existence is informed by events and encounters in known and unknown worlds.
My creative practice is an embodied enquiry: the mind follows the body’s instructions, transported through memories, dreams, visions and emotions to the imagination. This process determines my choice of visual structures and medium, allowing my work to be an internal response to external narratives and phenomena.
Key influences are painters Dorothy Fratt and Hilma af Klint, sculptor Helen Martins, film-maker David Lynch, photographer Ansel Adams and the band Depeche Mode.
